Community Policing
Our Neighbourhood police team is centred around Pangbourne and deals with non-serious crime, anti-social behaviour, and supporting the community. The team works closely with other agencies such as West Berkshire Council, Neighbourhood Watch schemes, and the other police groups above, with the aim of preventing or discouraging crime, gathering intelligence to address ‘hot-spots’, and providing reassurance to residents worried by crime or the fear of crime. For emergencies and to report crimes in progress, call 999. For everything else, call the non-emergency number 101. The response will be related to the problem reported. For serious burglary or damage, police will attend as soon as possible to investigate the crime. For problems of anti-social behaviour, and lesser issues, the calls will not result in an immediate on-site response, but the issue will be monitored and when it is clear that there is a real and recurrent problem, the police will mount patrols and campaigns to address this.
